Nicolaus VON WIREN

Nicolaus Von Wiren is Professor and Head of Department of Physiology & Cell Biology at The Leibniz-Institute for Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research in Germany. His major research interests are the nutrient sensing, metal and ammonium transport processes across plant membranes, nutrient-phytohormone interactions, impact of nutrients on root system architecture, nutrient efficiency mechanisms in crops. He has an active publicaton activity with an H-index 44 (Scopus), 109 ICI-listed papers and high number of citations (>4500).

Pr. Von Wiren is also President of the German Society for Plant Nutrition, member of the Scientific Advisory Board and Evaluation Committee of the INRA Versailles, France and the Faculty for Plant Sciences and Environment, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Leibniz Institute for Plant Biochemistry, Halle, Germany, and editor for “Plant Physiology” and advisor for “The New Phytologist”
